Comrade Alam Javadi passed away on the morning of September 1st at his home in Gothenburg, Sweden, after a long period of illness.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Rafiq Alam spent years in prison in the 1960s for his political activities with the Iranian People’s Revolutionary Guards (Oqlit) and was tortured like thousands of other men and women. Like thousands of other political prisoners, he emerged from the prisons of the Islamic Republic resilient and proud. <\/p>

During his years in exile, Rafiq Alam was a companion and supporter of the Iranian Political Prisoners Association (in exile) and actively participated in the campaign of political prisoners and families of those who died in the 1960s to put the Islamic Republic on trial and establish the International People’s Court of Iran Tribunal.<\/p>

Comrade Alam was a militant communist and an educated and kind human being. The Iranian Political Prisoners Association (in exile) honors the memory of this militant comrade and extends its condolences to his family, friends, and comrades on his passing. <\/p>
