Not long after the rally, the police force, dressed in uniforms of government mercenaries, violently and brutally attacked the rally, beating and injuring a number of protesters and arresting at least 40. During the protests of the families of those arrested, they were released, but a number of workers, students, teachers, and their supporters are still in detention.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The Iranian Political Prisoners Association (in exile) strongly condemns the attack on the May Day celebrations and the beating and arrest of a number of protesters, and calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all those arrested on May 11, as well as all political and social activists and political prisoners from the prisons of the Islamic Republic.
