Increase in political executions in Iran amid news of the Gaza war
The Islamic Republic’s prison killing machine, amid the tumult of news about the Gaza war, secretly handed over several political and ideological prisoners to death squads in November and December. The Islamic Republic’s killers secretly handed over Milad Zohrevand, the eighth young activist in the revolutionary movement of the Women of Freedom, 22-year-old from Malayer, to a death squad in Hamadan prison on December 2, 1402.
Further, the Islamic Republic’s killing machine handed over Kamran Rezaei, 33, one of the November 2019 protesters in Shiraz, to the death squad after five years on Thursday, December 29, 1402, in Shiraz’s Adel Abad Prison.
During the bloody repression of the people in Shadegan in 2019, Hani Albushehbazi was arrested on charges of murdering a police officer and a Basij member, and after five years, he was handed over to a death squad on Tuesday, November 20, 1402. He was also forced under torture to confess to murders that he did not even know existed.
Two prisoners of conscience, Qasim Abste and Ayoub Karimi, were executed by firing squad in Qezel Hesar Prison on November 14, 1402, and December 8, 1402, respectively, after fourteen years. The two were Kurds and Sunnis, and were arrested on December 7, 1388, along with five other like-minded individuals, Davoud Abdullahi, Kamran Sheikheh, Farhad Salimi, Khosrow Basharat, and Anwar Khezri.
Moreover, Saman Mohammadi Khiyareh, a citizen of Sanandaj who was accused of war against the government and forming an armed group to overthrow the government and war against the government, was handed over to the death squad in Qezel Hesar prison on Monday morning, October 17, 1402. He was in prison for seven years until his execution.
