The Islamic Republic assassinated Javad Rouhi.

The Islamic Republic assassinated Javad Rouhi.

The intelligence agents of the Islamic Republic arrested Javad Rouhi, like thousands of other young people at the height of the revolutionary movement of women for a free life, in Shahrivar 1402 (September 1403) and immediately tortured him to force a confession. The Islamic Republic’s inhumane court sentenced Javad to three executions based on a case file that the interrogators and torturers had prepared for him. This sentence was so baseless that the regime’s Supreme Court later overturned it.

Javad Nahm Shahrivar died in Nowshahr Hospital after being transferred from prison. All evidence suggests that he was poisoned in prison with the intention of killing him.

State media has released a film of Javad meeting his parents in person the day before his murder. This film shows that he was in perfect health. Whatever happens to any prisoner in prison, the Islamic Republic is responsible for it. This is not the first time that a political prisoner has been murdered in the prisons of the Islamic Republic.

The Iranian Political Prisoners Association (in exile) strongly condemns the murder of Javad Rouhi and holds the Islamic Republic responsible for his death. Continuing its brutality, the Islamic Republic is resorting to every repression and crime to prevent people from returning to the streets on the anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s murder on September 15. The arrest of female activists in several cities and provinces of Iran, including in Gilan and Isfahan, the re-arrest of released prisoners of the Women’s Freedom Movement, and the arrest of families of the victims of the Revolutionary Women’s Freedom Movement in the past few weeks, are evidence of the regime’s fear and terror of the people.
