Bloodthirsty people murdered another ruler, revolutionary, and hero.

Bloodthirsty people murdered another ruler, revolutionary, and hero.

At seven in the morning, they called the surviving family of Majid Reza Rahnavard, woke them up, and said, “Go to Behesht Reza,” we executed your son and buried him ourselves. They took the mother to visit Majid the day before and did not say anything about Majid’s execution. This morning, when she reached her son’s lifeless head, the executioners of the Islamic Republic were burying Majid Reza alone. They simply take the life of a young man and make his family, mother, and Iranian people mourn, and they expect people to be afraid and say nothing and return to their homes.

The Islamic Republic is using the same method of the 1960s for its survival. By killing revolutionaries, it wants to create fear in society so that they will return to their homes and stop fighting to overthrow it. This criminal and murderous regime thinks that it can, using the same method it used in the 1960s, make society obedient to its authoritarian system after forty years since that massacre. If executions and killings had caused people to become passive, the massacres of the 1960s, political assassinations, the executions and killings of young people in January 1996 and November 1998, the execution of Navid Afkari, etc., would have brought the ruling criminals to their destination long before now.

The Islamic Republic has reached a dead end in the streets and has failed to silence them with the most brutal repression and killings. It tortures revolutionaries in prison and sentences them to death in its courts of law, with the aim of suppressing the uprising of the people. However, the Islamic Republic deepens its grave with every bullet it shoots into the hearts of the children of this land and water and every rope it hangs around their necks.

“Hashtags” and “petitions” no longer work. The Islamic Republic wants to execute a number of people, with the goal of stopping the uprising.

The Islamic Republic has sentenced thirty more people to death. To protect their lives, the streets must be filled with people. Let us not let the Islamic Republic mistake our silence for our fear. We must protest the executions on the street.

Governments must stop these ineffective and demagogue sanctions. If they are telling the truth and care about the rights of the Iranian people, they should immediately recall their ambassadors from Iran, close the embassies of the Islamic Republic, and block banking transactions with the Islamic Republic. The Islamic Republic does not represent the Iranian people, and any appeasement with it is contrary to the interests of the Iranian people.

The Iranian Political Prisoners Association (in exile) strongly condemns the execution of Majid Reza Rahnavard in his lifetime and extends its condolences to his family, mother, and the people of Iran. May the memory of this brave fighter be honored.
