In support of the uprising of the Iranian people
The recent uprising of the Iranian people, which began as a protest against the government murder of Mahsa Amini, quickly escalated into a (spontaneous) revolutionary uprising. This uprising is in its initial stages and has so far achieved its first goal, awakening society.
The uprising is now in the stage of continuity and sustainability. In the awakening stage, the insurgents had to convey their goal of rising against the Islamic Republic to the ears of all the people and also to the government. They accomplished this by raising slogans such as “The veil is an excuse, the principle of the system is a sign.” When the insurgents were sure that their message had reached the ears of all the people and also to the government, in order to continue the uprising and for its sustainability, it was necessary to take the uprising a step further and strengthen it. They also conveyed this message to all the people with full revolutionary awareness and raising slogans such as “We do not want spectators, join us”, “Iranians with zeal, support support”. Following this, wider sections joined the uprising. But this process is not yet complete, and the uprising has not been sufficiently strengthened and popularized to overcome the fear of those who are still onlookers and put pressure on the working class to support the uprising and join it by striking, thus preparing the ground for the uprising to reach its peak.
There is no doubt that to strengthen the uprising at this stage, a series of symbolic actions and tactics are needed that will cause fear and uncertainty in the repressive forces and cause them to collapse. These actions include burning symbols of repression, ideology, and propaganda of the Islamic Republic and attacking centers of repression and ideology with Molotov cocktails, shouting slogans at night from windows of houses and rooftops, and writing slogans, especially on the walls of centers of repression and ideology of the regime. In the recent uprising, these actions have been supplemented by painting the ponds of squares and parks in the color of blood, creating obstacles, especially by lighting fires in the path of the repressive forces, creating artificial roadblocks with cars, and continuous honking. Some of these actions, such as continuous honking, have made the repressive forces extremely nervous and panicked, to the point that in several cases they have attempted to destroy cars and shoot directly at the drivers, causing the death and injury of several of them.
The next thing that can disarm the Islamic Republic is the cry of millions of people in the country, which must resonate from the windows and rooftops of houses in conjunction with street protests. The Islamic Republic is trying its best to show its supporters and repressive forces that the insurgents are a small minority and are being led from abroad. Therefore, the support of millions of people for the uprising, their open solidarity and empathy with the rising masses, is very important.
If this tactic is successfully implemented and the people support and accompany them at this stage, the psychological and social conditions will be created to enter the peak stage (million-strong demonstrations and general political strikes).
The survival of the uprising requires the creation of organization and leadership to continue the path. At this stage, the conditions for organizing and creating leadership are provided. If the mechanism of this stage is carried out correctly, the path to victory is paved.
In order for this uprising not to suffer the fate of the 1957 uprising and to ensure its victory, the people must elect the leadership of the uprising from among themselves. America and its Western allies, who put the mullahs in power and helped their rule survive for the past forty-three years, are watching for the turning point, when the Islamic Republic is about to collapse, to use propaganda and money to elect someone who represents their interests in Iran and the region to lead the uprising and once again defeat the revolution in the name of revolution. If this happens, the revolution and democratic changes and the people’s demands for equality and justice will be postponed for another fifty years.
The Iranian Political Prisoners Association (in exile) salutes you, the men and women who have bravely, selflessly, and consciously entered the field of struggle against the Islamic Republic. We, the members of the Association, were young and your age in 1957. We entered the field of struggle against the monarchy, fully aware of the dangers that lay ahead of us. But they stole the revolution from us and led it astray. You must not allow this to happen. Organize yourselves and elect a leader from among yourselves. Do not let America and its European allies fill this void.
After victory, you need a plan to consolidate the revolution. Without a plan, you will not achieve your goals and you will not be able to establish a democratic, egalitarian, and just system in Iran. Do not let history repeat itself and let others who had no role in your revolution plan for you and establish another tyranny.
May you be victorious on the path you have chosen. We will do whatever is necessary and within our power to ensure the victory of the revolution. We are with you and by your side, and our hearts and souls are with the uprising.
