Political prisoner is tied to the fate of the Islamic Republic

Political prisoner is tied to the fate of the Islamic Republic

The Islamic Republic regime, after riding the wave of the 1957 revolution with the help of America, England, France and Germany, reopened the political prisons that had been closed by the masses of the people during the revolution, and re-established torture beds and execution gallows. It imprisoned, tortured and executed tens of thousands of revolutionaries who had played a decisive role in the victory of the revolution. In this way, by distorting and crushing the revolution, it built tyranny by resorting to religion on the ruins of the tyranny of the Pahlavi kings, which the people had destroyed during the revolution. From that time on, the Islamic Republic spread the people’s voice of freedom-seeking and anti-tyranny, generation after generation, during its forty-four years of shameful rule, suppressing and killing people from prison to society.

During the revolutionary movement of the Women’s Life of Freedom, which was to pave the way for the overthrow of this regime and a social revolution, the Islamic Republic brutally exterminated the people, killed hundreds, blinded and disabled hundreds, arrested tens of thousands, and executed three young revolutionaries to create fear in society. In its most recent crime, it secretly executed Muhyiddin Ebrahimi, a Kurdish political prisoner, in Urmia prison.

The struggle to free political prisoners, due to the expansion of prisons and the repression and killing of society, is not separate from the struggle to overthrow and overthrow the Islamic Republic. As long as the Islamic Republic is in power, it will use prisons and political prisoners as leverage to suppress society.

On March 18, International Day of Political Prisoners, we reiterate loudly that the Islamic Republic, relying on its repressive forces, has turned Iran into a huge prison for the people and has taken eighty million Iranians hostage. Until the Islamic Republic is overthrown, the category of political prisoner will not be eliminated from Iranian literature, society, and people’s lives.
