The Islamic Republic has increased the execution of political prisoners with a hostile and vicious haste. In the space of eight days, from May 26 to May 27, the Islamic Republic executed eight political prisoners; Amer Ramesh in Zahedan, Sasan Azadvar, Mehrab Abdollahzadeh, Yaqoub Karimpour and Naser Bekerzadeh in Urmia, Mehdi Rasouli, Mohammad Reza Miri and Ebrahim Dolatabadi in Mashhad, by hanging them in prison.

Dozens of those arrested in the January protests and the Women’s Revolutionary Movement of Freedom are currently at risk of imminent execution. This is part of the Islamic Republic’s systematic policy of intimidation and repression to contain the discontent and protests of the masses of the Iranian people.
