Abbas Idris’ life is in danger.
The Supreme Court of the regime, the highest organ of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s execution apparatus, confirmed the death sentence of Abbas Daris. Abbas Daris, 48, is married, has three sons, and is from Jarahi-Bandar Mahshahr. He was arrested in early December 2019 along with his brother Mohsen Daris, 29.
Abbas Daris was arrested and sentenced to death on Monday, November 17, 2019, on the false charge of shooting at NOPU forces and killing an officer named Reza Sayadi. This is despite the fact that he had nothing to do with this matter and, according to eyewitnesses, this accusation is false.
The Islamic Republic’s intelligence torture apparatus severely tortured him immediately after his arrest and forced him to confess to a murder he had no knowledge of.
Abbas Daris is among those who witnessed the burning of the Mahshahr reeds and the massacre of people in this incident. By killing Abbas, the Islamic Republic wants to eliminate one of the witnesses to the burning of the Mahshahr reeds and the massacre of people in this incident and, by making him appear guilty, close the case of its crime in the Mahshahr reeds.
This criminal act by the Islamic Republic is unprecedented, and it did the same thing in the Karaj and Isfahan cases, portraying Mohammad Hosseini, Mohammad Mehdi Karami, Saeed Yaqoubi, Saleh Mirhashemi, and Majid Kazemi, etc. as guilty and executing them.
The Iranian Political Prisoners Association (in exile) strongly condemns the death sentence of Abbas Daris and is deeply concerned about the execution of his sentence. We also warned the people about the previous executions that if these sentences are not opposed, the Islamic Republic will take other lives. Let’s not let the Islamic Republic execute Abbas before it is too late. Only with nationwide protests inside and outside Iran and globalizing the name of Abbas Daris, can the Islamic Republic be pushed back and not allowed to execute Abbas and achieve its evil and criminal goals.
