More Executions, More Hostility Toward the People of Iran

At a time when the Islamic Republic has driven Iran to the brink of destruction through its warmongering policies and has opened the door for imperialist and Zionist aggressors to enter and devastate the country, it continues its hostility toward the Iranian people. It persistently uses executions as a tool to instill fear in society. The judiciary of the repressive and criminal Islamic regime ruling Iran announced on Thursday, March 19, 2026 the execution of three young revolutionaries in Qom. Mehdi Ghasemi, Saleh Mohammadi, and Saeed Davoodi were among those arrested during the January protests. Their trial, like all political trials over the past forty-seven years, was conducted in secrecy, without a fair judicial process, without access to legal counsel or family, and based on pre-fabricated scenarios created by interrogators and torturers, relying on forced confessions.

According to the judiciary’s claim, these three individuals attacked two police officers with cold weapons during the protests on January 7 and killed them. However, no substantiated legal or judicial evidence has been presented for this claim, and their confessions—extracted under torture—were used as the basis for their trial and execution.

In two other criminal acts, the Islamic Republic executed two political prisoners: Aqil Keshavarz, a student at Shahroud University, in December 2025, and Kourosh Keyvani in March 2026, on charges of spying for Israel. The Islamic Republic has consistently used such accusations to execute young people and sacrifice them in order to create fear in society. These trials, as always, were conducted behind closed doors, and the public has not been presented with any credible evidence regarding these accusations.

The Iranian Political Prisoners Association (in Exile) strongly condemns these executions and recent acts of capital punishment, considering them state-sanctioned killings, inhumane, and belonging to the medieval era. The death penalty deprives individuals of the right to life and must be abolished from Iran’s legal system.

Down with the Islamic Republic regime by the people of Iran, without foreign intervention

No to executions, no to imperialist–Zionist–reactionary war

Long live social revolution
