Happy International Workers’ Day!

Happy International Workers’ Day!

This year, International Workers’ Day comes in a condition where the working class and its life and livelihood are more than ever before under the attacks of capital in the world. Iran is among the countries where workers, including those from various trades and their co-destinies, including farmers, teachers, nurses, employees, etc., have been attacked in the most brutal way possible by capital and its guardian government, the Islamic Regime of Iran.  Not only their wages and rights have been plundered, but they are also deprived of having organisations to defend their rights and interests. Any protest they make is met with individual and collective dismissal from workplaces.

In the most recent anti-labor measures of the capital owners and their regime, we can point out the dismissal of a group of workers of Ahvaz National Steel Group and a hundred workers of Pars Tabiat Cellulose whose rights were violated, stood up for their rights and staged protests demanding better wages and their rights to be provided, were fired collectively.

In Iran, where capitalist laws prevail, and the government safeguards the interests of capitalists, the response to workers’ rightful protests has been dismissals, repression, imprisonment, and torture.

The only solution for Iranian workers in such circumstances is to unite and organise their struggle against dismissals, pushing back the attacks of capital on their lives and livelihoods, and ultimately engaging in a united political struggle against the system and the regime that has brought nothing but poverty, misery, repression, imprisonment, torture, and executions for the Iranian people.

Workers of Iran, unite and organise yourselves in your councils!

Your situation will worsen significantly if the Islamic Regime continues to exist. A regime that is protecting the capitalist system, and do everything to safeguard the right of the capitalists, including abusing your rights to work and repress you by any means, cannot safeguard your interests or those of your fellow workers.

Only by overthrowing the Islamic Regime and establishing a people’s system based on councils, led by the majority of Iran’s working people, can the highest form of democracy and freedom prevail. This will rescue the masses from the current inhumane state of poverty, misery, oppression, and repression, paving the way for an equitable and humane society. Such a system would abolish all the Islamic Regime’s inhumane, degrading, and discriminatory laws.

Workers of Iran, unite!
