Political Executions is a signs of the Islamic Regime’s Fear of the People
After that the Revolutionary Movement of “Women, Life, Freedom” subsided, the Islamic Regime of Iran carried out more political executions as a part of ongoing social repression. Over the past year, it has executed Mohammad Qabadlou, Farhad Salimi, Pejman Fatahi, Vafa Azarbar, Mohsen Mazloum, Mohammad Faramarzi, Anvar Khodri, Kamran Sheikh, Khosro Basharat, and recently Reza Rasai and Jamshid Sharmahd.
Recently, two Kurdish young women, Pakhshan Azizi and Varisheh Moradi, as well as young revolutionaries Milad Armon, Alireza Kafaei, Amir Mohammad Khosheghbal, Navid Najaran, Hossein Nemati, and Alireza Bamarz Pournak from the so called Ekbatan Case, have been sentenced to death. These young individuals were arrested during the Movement of “Women, Life, Freedom” alongside eight others in Shahrek Ekbatan, Tehran, and subjected to severe torture. Six of these young people were charged and sentenced to death for allegedly participating in the killing of a Basij cleric named Ali Vardi, despite none of them being presented at the location where the Basij member was killed.
Mohsen Shekari, Majidreza Rahnavard, Seyed Mohammad Hosseini, Mohammad Mehdi Karami, Saleh Mirhashemi, Saeed Yaghoubi, Majid Kazemi, and Milad Zohrevand were also executed on baseless charges, such as setting fire to rubbish bins, merely because they participated in the Movement of “Women, Life, Freedom”. The criminal regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran uses executions as a tool to create fear in the society.
More than 30 political prisoners in various Iranian prisons, including Mojahed Korkori, Hamidreza Jalali, Habib Deris, Edris Ali, Yousef Ahmadi, Mansour Rasouli, Naeb Askari, Mehran Bahramian, Fazel Bahramian, Ali Mojdam, Mohammadreza Moghaddam, Moein Khanfari, Adnan Ghabishavi, Salem Mousavi, Farhad Shakri, Isa Eid Mohammadi, Abdolrahman Gorgij, Abdolhakim Azim Gorgij, Taj Mohammad Khormali, Malek Ali Fadaei Nasab, Amir Rahimpour, Malek Davar Shenas, and Ali Obeidavi, have been sentenced to death.
The Islamic Republic is in its most fragile and terrified state and is facing huge social and regional crises. The majority of Iranian people do not want this criminal and corrupt regime.
The death knell for the Islamic Republic was first sounded during the protests of December 2017 (Day 1396), growing louder during the November 2019 protests, and reaching a crescendo in the revolutionary movement “Women, Life, Freedom“. In response, the regime has intensified its repression and killings to prevent the next uprising, hoping to prolong it´s disgraceful and tyrannical existence for a little longer.
The day is not far when the masses, workers and the oppressed, with unity and solidarity, overthrow this bloodthirsty and criminal regime in their next uprising and consign it to the dustbin of history. Political executions are a sign of the regime’s fear of the people, not its power.
The time is not far when the mass of people, workers and the oppressed In particular, with unity and solidarity, put an end to this cruel and criminal regime in their next uprising and throw it in the dustbin of history. Political executions are a sign of the regime’s fear of the people and not a sign of its power.
The Organisation of Iranian Political Prisoners (in Exile) strongly condemns the death sentences of Pakhshan Azizi, Varisheh Moradi, Milad Armon, Alireza Kafaei, Amir Mohammad Khosheghbal, Navid Najaran, Hossein Nemati, and Alireza Bamarz Pournak, as well as all other death sentences. The Islamic Republic must be put under pressure to revoke these inhumane sentences. Execution is a violation of the right to life and human dignity, and it must be abolished.
Down with the Islamic Republic!
Long live the social revolution of the Iranian people!
