The Islamic Regime executes Reza Rasaei in Silence

The ruling criminals in Iran executed political prisoner Reza Rasaei, 34, at dawn on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, in complete media silence, amid the uproar over the attack on Israel.

Reza Rasaei was one of the brave protesters who took to the streets following the brutal killing of Mahsa Amini.

After Mohsen Shekari, Majid Reza Rahnavard, Mohammad Hosseini, Mohammad Mehdi Karami, Majid Kazemi, Saeed Yaghoubi, Saleh Mirhashemi, Javad Rouhi and Mohammad Qobadlou, he became the tenth young protester from the revolutionary movement of “Woman, Life, Freedom” to be executed by the Islamic Regime of Iran. He was forced to confess under torture to a murder that he never committed—part of a fabricated scenario by the regime to justify his execution.

The Islamic Regime has declared war on its own people ever since it seized the power in 1979. Silence regarding political prisoners who are sentenced to death, puts their lives in grave danger. The voices of families fighting for their loved ones—such as Mahmoud Mehrabi, Mojtaba Korkor, Abbas Deris, Sharifeh Mohammadi, Pakhshan Azizi, Nasim Gholami, Varisheh Moradi, Mehran and Fazel Bahramian, Jamshid Sharmahd, and many others facing imminent execution—must be heard. We must stand with them and pressure the Islamic Regime to stop carrying out these death sentences.

The Association of Iranian Political Prisoners (in Exile) strongly condemns the execution of Reza Rasaei. With these executions, the Islamic Regime of Iran is tightening the noose around its own downfall. The regime will pay a heavy price for the lives it takes from the people of Iran. It knows this well, which is why it continues its killings in a desperate attempt to prevent the people to overthrowing it.

Even so far, especially in the last two years, first during the revolutionary movement of the Woman, Life, Freedom and then by not participating in its sham elections, people have given heavy blows to its dying body.
