Warning: The Islamic Regime Intends to Execute Several Political Prisoners

After its recent disgraceful failure in the Middle East and the weakening of its position in the domestic and international arenas, particularly the rise of people’s dissatisfaction, boundless inflation and high prices, and the inability to improve the economy of the society and the livelihood of the people, the Islamic Republic has become very scared. It fears that public discontent could erupt into a broader uprising, further accelerating its downfall.

In order to prevent this, it intends to establish fear in the society by executing a number of political prisoners, including Pakhshan Azizi, Behrooz Ehsani, Mehdi Hosseini, and Mujahid Korkor, whose death sentences has lately been confirmed by the Supreme Court of the regime.

With every crisis it creates in the society, the regime destroys its existence and paves the way for its ultimate destruction by the masses of people. Today, Iranian society is not the same as it was in the 1980s, 1990s, or 2000s. The society has become more courageous, fearless, and resilient through social movements, particularly the “Women, Life, Freedom” revolutionary movement. The people no longer remain indifferent to the regime’s crimes, and not only would not be intimidated, they react strongly to its actions.

The people will not stay silent in the face of execution and the murder of their children. Opposition to death penalty has become a significant social issue in Iran, especially after the Islamic regime executed eight young revolutionaries during the movement of “Women, Life, Freedom”.

Until the people’s final fight to get rid of this anti-people regime, we must do whatever we can to prevent the implementation of execution of Pakhshan Azizi, Behrouz Ehsani, Mehdi Hassani by widespread protests, applying both domestic and international pressure on the regime to stop their death sentences.

Organisation of Iranian Political Prisoners (in Exile) strongly condemns the death sentences of Pakhshan Azizi, Mojahed Korkor, Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani. and considers death penalty as state-sanctioned murder, and striving to abolish the death penalty.

The death sentences of Pakhshan Azizi, Behrouz Ehsani, Mehdi Hassani and Mojahed Korkor must be revoke immediately.

Political prisoners must be freed.
Repression, torture, and execution must be abolished.
The Islamic Republic of Iran must be overthrown by the Iranian people.
